Stop disabled & chronically ill losing benefits when moving in with a partner
Stop counting disabled and chronically ill people’s partners income and savings as their own, when they move in together. This then stops their benefits and takes away their financial independence, becoming a financial burden on their partners.
Please help us to keep our financial independence and allow us to move in with the people we love without becoming a financial burden on them. I currently can’t move in with my partner because he wouldn’t be able to care for me and work enough hours to pay both of our rent and expenses including my medical treatments. We should be able to keep our finances separate and independent. I am now living alone, getting less help than I need, and unable to live with the man that I love.
