Make the planning system transparent, impartial and fair.
Review the planning process, in order to make it fair and impartial, and compelled to react to communities' concerns where proposed developments run counter to local neighbourhood development plans (NDP), and environmental protections (eg, AONBs, SSSIs). Establish a planning ombudsman as arbiter.
A developer's appeal to build houses in a green field enclave within an AONB was upheld by the Planning Inspectorate, with scant regard to the town's NDP and despite the fact that: quotas for new homes had already been exceeded; the land in question is prone to flooding, and that road access to the site is inherently unsafe. Another planned development of tightly-packed urban-style housing within an AONB failed to take into account the existing landscape, with dispersed forest smallholdings.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about current planning processes, but we're not sure exactly how you'd like these to be changed.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
