Revoke Westminster Council’s decision to allow the demolition of M&S Oxford St
Westminster Council has granted permission for the 1930s building occupied by M&S next to Selfridges to be demolished and replaced with a modern glass and steel building.
Demolition of this beautiful and historical Art Deco building would be nothing short of criminal.
Because this building is of historical importance and Oxford Street doesn’t need to start looking like Canary Wharf. Not to mention the impact of a glass and steel building right next to Selfridges, it would look totally out of place.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is a matter for Westminster Council as the local planning authority, not the UK Government or Parliament.
You might be able to submit an appeal against this particular planning decision, and you can find out more about how to do this here: www.gov.uk/appeal-planning-decision.
You could also contact your MP and ask them to speak to Westminster Council about this issue on your behalf. You can find their contact details by entering your post code here: members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP.
