Negligence claims to note suffering of sentient beings not just view as property
We want the government to create parity and standardisation across UK/English laws with regards professional (veterinary) negligence to take into account bills that have recently been passed on sentient animals having more impact on legal outcomes and sentancing in negligence claims.
Therefore, should a dog or animal die or come to harm either 'directly' or 'indirectly' from a professionally regulated veterinarian's 'actions' OR 'omissions', of which could have been reasonably foreseen and prevented by a professional of a similar training, then the animal or pet in question, in negligence proceedings, should not mearly be viewed as property, but a sentient being that has come to harm and/or had suffering caused. This law will be known as Annie's Law.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want to see changes to the law around negligence by veterinarians, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like to be made to the law.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
Animal Welfare (Sentience) Bill is currently been considered by Parliament, and has not yet been enacted. You can follow progress of this Bill here: bills.parliament.uk/bills/2867/stages
