UK Asylum process must include due diligence and mental health assessments
Our prayer is that the safety of British Citizen's is taken into consideration by including thorough due diligence and mental health assessments into the vetting process of all UK asylum seekers.
Last year, 3 British women and myself were defrauded by a gentleman - who we later discovered was an asylum seeker in the UK.
After raising alert online, people from his native country of Malawi informed us that he is well known for defrauding people. I have made a formal complaint to the Home Office and Local MP and both are yet to respond or take action. We believe that had he been thoroughly vetted, it's likely that he would not have even met the requirements for seeking asylum.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the possibility of asylum seekers engaging in criminal activity, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Your petition refers to "due diligence", but it's not clear what changes you want the Government to make to the process for granting asylum, or management of asylum seekers before their application is considered.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
