Petition Action

Withdraw Government guidance giving police discretion for road traffic offences

Petition Details

Remove Government guidance that allows the discretion of the police concerning road traffic offences.

Additional Information

Keeping this current guidance in place allows police to turn a blind eye to road traffic offences. In Particular, pavement cycling offences and e-Scooter offences which break the law.

Discipline for people on e-scooters and cyclists who break the law and put pedestrians at risk needs equality to any other crime committed.
