Allow subscribers to Internet Service Providers to have a 3 month trial period
Once you subscribe to a new ISP you are IMMEDIATELY locked in with that company for at least 18 months. Even if you find the service is poor and not fit for for your purpose you are still stuck with it and must pay a penalty to leave.
The UK government must intervene and add this protection to subscribers because no matter how much complaining we do to the ISP, they are under no obligation to improve their service because they are guaranteed to get a monthly payment from all their subscribers no matter how shoddy or poor the internet service is they supply. TalkTalk is a prime example of a very poor intermittent service.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the length of contracts internet service providers offer are a matter for individual providers, not the Government or Parliament. There are a number of providers that offer short-term or flexible contracts.
