Stop fining parents for taking children out of school in term time
The government should reverse the decision to fine parents in England for taking their child out of school during term time where the child has otherwise good attendance.
The government should concentrate their efforts on dealing with persistent truants and the social issues that often cause such behaviour rather than victimising good parents who merely want to spend quality time with our children.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Whether a school or local authority issues a fine for unauthorised family holiday is down to a local decision.
