Make Service In Armed Forces An Automatic Route To Full British Citizenship.
Change the law to grant full British Citizenship to anyone who serves five years or more in the Armed Forces or is injured in combat or training and medically discharged beforehand as a result of such service.
The centuries old link between the citizens of Nepal (Gurkhas) and the British Army is well known. It is less well known by the general public that recruitment of Commonwealth citizens into our armed forces continues at pace. It is a matter of extreme pride for all successful applicants for many have generational ties with such service. If someone is prepared make the ultimate sacrifice and lay down their life for a country not their own the nation should show its gratitude in this way.
