The evidence clearly suggests that this variant was identified in South Africa, but has actually been spreading in other countries prior to its identification.

Additional Information

Remove South Africa from the travel 'Red List'. South Africa and Red List countries should not be differently to other countries.

Even with these travel restrictions in place, community transmission is proving that the Omicron variant will soon become the dominant variant globally, overtaking the Delta variant.

Remove the Red List. Keeping South Africa on the Red List, has not prevented or slowed down any transmission, and is therefore pointless, and discriminatory in natur
