Petition Action

Leave European Convention on Human Rights & replace Human Rights Act 1998

Petition Details

Honour government’s manifesto pledge to Take Back Control of our money, laws and borders noting the more than trembling of economic migration via the Channel Crossing and other methods. Set up an offshore processing centre for all asylum claims. All undocumented arrivals automatically denied entry.

Additional Information

With conservative estimates of 1.5M migrants in the United Kingdom and over 26,000 (87% male) arriving via the Channel crossing alone in 2021 to date, the government needs to realise the benefits of Brexit and their commitment to Take Back Control of our money, laws and borders.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand you are concerned about attempts to enter the UK illegally, however it's not clear how replacing the Human Rights Act would address this, nor what you want the Act to be replaced with.
