Provide Ladders In All Flats Belonging To High-Rise Tower Blocks.
I would like the Government to make it mandatory for all council owned tower blocks to provide ladders, or any other means that could allow residents to leave through a window in the event of a fire or, any other catastrophic life threating event.
Please imagine being related to, or knowing of someone, who resides in council owned high-rise tower blocks. Now imagine that they suffered horrific injury, or worse, died, because the only way that they might have escaped a fire (or something of a similar nature) was to jump out of their apartment, located on the 16th floor...
Let's work together to put some provisions in place, to enable residents the best possible opportunity to survive such a devastating event.

We understand that you are concerned about the safety of residents in high-rise buildings, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Your petition calls for the provision of ladders, but it's not clear what you want to be done with these ladders, or how this would ensure residents of high-rise buildings would be able to leave their homes through their windows in the event of a fire.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to review fire safety arrangements for residents of high-rise buildings, or introduce new requirements for landlords of these buildings, if either of those are things you would like to happen.
