Ban unpaid trial shifts.
Change the law to prevent companies from using unpaid time to evaluate a potential job candidates abilities.
Potential employees often have to source a uniform and pay for travel to attend interviews and trial shifts.
Unpaid trial shifts are often part of an interview process for minimum wage jobs, people who are applying for these jobs may feel as though they cannot say no to working a trial shift without risking their future livelihood.
It is unfair to ask job candidates to work an unpaid shift, where they may not even gain employment afterward.
