There are alternatives to plastics to package goods.

Plastics are often disposed of irresponsibly, so that even if they can be recycled they end up in the ecosystem.

There is well documented mass long term environmental damage.

Additional Information

Packaging should meet the following principles:

- Does not harm the environment if disposed irresponsibly.
- Does not harm the environment dis-proportionally to other packaging materials when manufactured.
- Can be reused or recycled.
