Introduce regulation and an ombudsman for epidemiological modelling
The Government should establish a regulatory framework for epidemiological modelling, and create an ombudsman to consider complaints about activities covered by this regulation.
We believe epidemiological modelling should be subject to regulation and oversight in a similar way to financial services.
The huge responsibility groups engaged in epidemiological modelling hold - giving advice that leads to decisions affecting millions of lives - should be matched by proper regulation and oversight.
