Online retailers to have a choice of delivery service
To enforce that every online retailer should offer a choice of delivery service provider in order to avoid a bad delivery service from a provider known to be a poor performer in the customers local area.
Too often the consumer is let down by the online retailers delivery service provider. Consumers currently have no choice on which delivery partner will deliver their items. Huge online retailers with the scope to use multiple providers use only one which leaves the consumer at the mercy of this provider. Too many times now the consumer has been let down by the provider. For better competition and to trigger providers into upping their game the consumer should be provided with a choice

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about delivery options offered by retailers are a matter for individual retailers, not the Government or Parliament. As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested. Customers are free to decide whether to shop with a particular retailer based on the delivery options they offer.
