We urge the House of Lords to overturn amendments to the police and crime bill.
18 pages of amended to the police and crime bill are being rushed through without scrutiny by our elected Members of Parliament. This is undemocratic.
The new amendments make stopping on private and public land without authorisation an offence punishable by removal of vehicles. This puts the already vulnerable homeless and Travelling communities at risk. Other draconian amendments cannot pass without scrutiny. Among them are plans to increase custodial sentences for older teenagers. Research proves this does not lead to good societal outcomes. The amendments must be scrutinised.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about amendments to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, but we're not sure exactly what amendments you are concerned about.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what amendments you want to be removed from the Bill.
