Vaccinators should aspirate the needle prior to administering the COVID vaccine
All vaccinators administering the COVID jab should be taught to aspirate the needle to check that the vaccine is injected into muscle tissue and not a blood vessel.
If the vaccine is injected into a blood vessel it can cause complications such as myocarditis or a pulmonary embolism.
