Reinstate the 14 years rule for entitlement to indefinite leave to remain

Petition Details

Too many migrants are the victim of hostile immigration policy. We believe current rules applying to migrants who entered the country lawfully but then overstayed are inhumane and unjustified. These migrants should be entitled to indefinite leave to remain after living here for 14 years.

Additional Information

Bringing back the 14 years rule for overstayers who entered legitimately with visa could help reduce modern slavery and also encourage migrants to come legally and not pursue dangerous and illegal routes into the UK.
