Make 2022 the year we end this pandemic by helping to #VaccinateTheWorld.
UK should offer the following support:
- Vaccine donations & sundries e.g. PPE, needles etc
- Donated vaccines exp. date >3 months
- Supply chain, infrastructure, regulate supply & avoid surges
- Vaccine patent waivers
- £ support
- Address unrest
- Consider other diseases e.g. HIV, malaria
The Omicron variant has shown that the only way we can end this pandemic is if we help #VaccinateTheWorld.
The UK must actively support global and equitable access to COVID-19 diagnostic tests, treatments, and vaccines. This could be through the WHO coordinated Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator or in partnership with individual countries.
If it's the latter, support must be personalised to the needs of the country; they will know the problems and have the solutions.
