Change planning law with respect to giant Solar Farms as NIP is inappropriate.
There is a growing number of high acreage Solar projects under the current planning NIP projects. Endowing developers compulsory purchase powers over land for Solar, losing farms, amenities, rural land, sensitive areas, areas of beauty, etc. and force through inappropriate siting of power stations.
The misuse of a power granted under law taking advantage of current priorities to avoid normal planning processes and forcibly remove the rights of landowners of large scale plots is simply profiteering by developers. They then sell on the project after planning is obtained avoiding and consequences of their action and leaving the affected individuals, communities and businesses damaged with no recourse. The law needs changing before the latest batch are approved.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about planning law as it relates to large-scale solar power schemes, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like to be made to planning law.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
