Better understanding of allergies in babies from GPs
I would like the government to make it mandatory that GPs have the basic training in allergy awareness, required to support new parents.
Or at least one GP at every surgery to have further training, with the intent to train every GP at the practise eventually.
As new parents, in lockdown. We often wondered what we was getting so ‘wrong’. Our baby cried night and day, for hours on end and whenever we reached out for medial help we was made to feel silly. One dr even told us ‘unfortunately it’s all part of being a parent, babies do cry’.
Our son was hospitalised before we was taken seriously and the battle didn’t end there.
I know of numerous families who have struggled to obtain help too. This needs to end.

Decisions about training for doctors are a matter for the NHS and relevant professional bodies, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
