Due to the ongoing issues with the pandemic affecting all NHS services, by making it mandatory that all GP Surgery's are to enable messaging features on there online services or NHS App, will help reduce the strain on A&E, outpatient and 111 and will also enable GP's to have more opportunities to help more patients for medical advice (at work or at home)(via pictures/pdf)and be able to priorities cases by patient needs and ensure patients don't turn to A&E as they are unable to contact there GP.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about how patients can contact their local GP are a matter for individual GPs, not the Government or Parliament.

As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
