End the "Twinned City" status between Manchester and St Petersburg
Due to the recent "Anti Gay Propaganda" laws in Russia it is no longer appropriate for Manchester, a city with a world famous gay scene and known for it's diverse population, to be twinned with St Petersburg where vicious homophobic attacks are part of daily life and ignored by the authorities. Manchester City Council should therefore cut all associations with Russia to send a clear message to Vladimir Putin that Britain does not associate itself with regimes that commit such horrific human rights atrocities.
