Ensure food & drink packaging/containers are 100% recyclable and 100% reusable.
Food and drink containers must be 100% recyclable as a minimum requirement and 100% reusable as a maximum goal. Additionally, roll out a National Deposit/Return Scheme, to achieve Zero Landfill Waste in the UK.
By bringing about the aforementioned, the UK Government could reduce methane, sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide entering our atmosphere unnecessarily.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand you're concerned about food packaging, however it's not clear what specific actions you want the Government to take in order to achieve these targets. Further, certain materials are reusable but not recyclable, such as polystyrene packing 'pellets', so it's not clear how any such target would work.
