Require MPs to correct factual errors made in parliamentary debate.
There have been a number recent examples where MPs have been proven to be factually wrong in responding to questions or in debate. To a degree this is understandable if unintended but it matters that such errors are promptly corrected as sound debate must be based on facts and evidence.
Parliament to require the Speaker to demand the prompt correction of any comment, answer or statement that is proven to be factually wrong. This should not be seen as a sanction, but ‘house keeping’ of parliamentary debate.

It is already the case that Members who mislead the House are required to correct the record, and if done knowingly may be subject to being found in contempt.
