Allow Visa Free travel to Republic of Ireland for UK Residents and vice versa .
As part of The Common Travel Area (CTA) which is a long-standing arrangement between the UK, the Crown Dependencies (Bailiwick of Jersey, Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Isle of Man) and Ireland - allow UK / Ireland residents to travel without need of having separate visa.
This will help to increase tourism business and eventually boost the economy.
Points to note : There is no boarder control for travelers from RoI to UK.
also if you travel by road transport from Northern Ireland to RoI , there are no border controls in place.
Ensuring visa free travel to both residents will help to boost tourism and economies of both countries.
For certain country nationals , if you hold valid UK visit visa ( Type D ) you can visit Ireland without need of separate visa.
