Change the way fines are given out for school absence.
The fines for taking your children out of school needs to change. I understand it is to keep parents from taking the kids away during term time but the price to take your child away in the half term is shocking. Fining parents for taking them away is one thing but fining other family members isn't.
Parents should be allowed to take their children on holiday at least for 1 week in term so that they can give their children at least 1 holiday a year, which would be affordable for them to do so. The price difference between term time and half term is ridiculous so people are taking their children away and just expecting a fine but recently me, my husband and my ex partner received a fine for one person going away. This is just not acceptable.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about existing provisions for parents of children to be fined for school absence, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like to be made to these rules.
We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:
Allow children 7 days holiday per year during term time without fines: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/600111
Remove powers for local councils to fine when children are absent from school: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/600483
If you'd like the Government to do something different to the above petitions you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
