Pay employed persons that cannot work from home their daily commute charges.
Enact a mandatory law so that PAYE employed workers are paid their commuting charges by their employer, which in turn could be offset against tax.
With constantly rising fuel prices and no opportunity to work from home as many do now, means that a very unfair situation has arisen. Virtually all essential workers have no choice but to travel to their place of work at great expense and commuting time. Those with the option to work from home save on fuel or train fares, less wear and tear and depreciation on their vehicles, cheaper car insurance plus gain far more home time with no commute involved, saving them thousands of pounds.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about whether to reimburse employees for travel costs are a matter for individual employees, not the Government or Parliament. We could accept a petition calling for a tax deduction for commuting costs, if that's something you'd like to happen.
