Pause the determination of all solar developments that are over 40 Megawatts.
Government should review the regulatory framework which is in place to manage solar developments, to ensure it considers a broader range of factors than the current National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), which is insufficient in preventing speculative development of our landscape.
No solar development should be approved until their impact on the environment and biodiversity is understood. There is currently a clear policy conflict within Government. On the one hand, Government seeks to protect and enhance our domestic production to maintain food security and recognises the pivotal role of farm land as a carbon sink. On the other, Government is encouraging the indiscriminate growth of renewable energy production. Growth of solar farms must be subject to better regulation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you are concerned about the impact that solar farms might have on the environment and would like to see changes to the regulations, but it's not clear if you want all approval of solar farms stopped or if you want changes to the regulations, and if so, what regulations on solar farms would you like the Government to action.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
