Make subtitles mandatory for all things televised
I would like the government to make subtitles mandatory for all things televised including catch up TV and Live Television and applications such as YouTube. I know it would benefit the entirety of the deaf community plus the elderly, as well as supporting young children with learning to read.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want subtitles to be required for certain media, but it's not clear what you want requirements you want to be introduced, and what media you want this to apply to. Your petition calls for mandatory subtitles, but it's not clear if you want these to be shown at all times, or just made available. Your petition also says this should apply to televised content, but also refers to YouTube, which is not necessarily transmitted by television.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
