Stop sending lateral flow tests in plastic casettes

Petition Details

The lateral flow test itself is a thin cardboard strip housed within a large plastic case which has no function. Cost, production time and plastic waste could be vastly reduced by either leaving the casing off altogether or suppling a single case that could be reused by inserting a strip each time.

Additional Information

To help reduce single use plastic waste and make production of lateral flow tests easier therefore increasing availability.

Decisions about the design of lateral flow tests are a matter for the manufacturers, not the Government or Parliament. As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
