Petition Action

compulsory voting in u k elections

Additional Information

It should be compulsory for anyone on the electoral roll to vote at all U.K. elections and a fine of £100 should be payable for anyone who does not vote.

In keeping with this change all U.K. ballot papers should have a box clearly marked "NO SUITABLE CANDIDATE" and in all constituencies where the "no suitable candidate" has a majority a stuffed human size monkey should be placed the benches of the House OF Commons.

Should any "no suitable candidate" M.P. win a second term in the same constituency they should immediately be elevated to the House Of Lords.
