Petition Action

Make UK government/assemblies liable for adverse health policy outcomes.

Petition Details

All policy contributors, within UK governmental bodies, should be made liable for foreseeable, life changing, adverse outcomes, by the health policies they enact.
Penalties should not exclude; removal from office, barring from any political office for specified periods, nor criminal prosecution.

Additional Information

The COVID pandemic response, in 2021, has shown that governmental bodies – the UK government, the Scottish & Welsh assemblies, have all overlooked real world data to continue health policies that massively impinge on the freedoms of UK citizens. The move from the number of hospitalisations and deaths, to COVID cases, which, for some, did not express itself in symptoms was clearly an overreach, resulting in suicides, bankruptcies, & the loss of bodily autonomy, minimally. This shouldn't happen.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want changes to accountability for people involved in the policy formation process, but it's not clear how your proposals would work in practice.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
