Reinstate street lamps on M66 Bury Lancashire

Petition Details

Reinstate the street lamps on the M66 motorway Bury Lancs which where switched off about ten years ago and eventually taken away in certain parts at a later date including dangerous areas like adjoining slip roads, going on and off the motorway

Additional Information

My reasons for saying this include, the road floods on a regularly basis due to its high position in the pennines causing it to be shrouded in mist and fog during the dark winter months,I have personally seen the aftermath of many an accident when traveling to and from work after cars have aquaplaned on the flooded carriageway due to torrential or continual rainfall, another hazard is the motorway merging from lane 3 to lane 2 at a 70mph stretch at one of the highest points on the motorway.
