Petition Action

Debate if parliament has been misled by statements relating to parties at No10

Petition Details

Various statements have been made to parliament over the past few weeks relating to parties held at Downing Street. We demand that parliament properly scrutinises all statements made and debates whether, on balance, it is reasonable to conclude that parliament has been deliberately misled.

Additional Information

We need to restore public confidence in our parliamentary processes and leadership. The only way to achieve this is to properly examine the evidence and to hold MPs to account for their statements and actions.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned that Parliament may have been misled, but we're not sure exactly what actions you would like to be taken to investigate this possibility.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, we could accept a petition calling for a select committee to be appointed to scrutinise parliamentary proceedings on this subject.
