Establish a Hospitality Workers' Charter
Establish a charter that ensures all hospitality workers receive:
- Guaranteed full sick pay for all
- Full workers rights from day one on the job
- Free, open access to employment tribunal support
Hospitality workers are routinely subjected to dangerous working practices.
- Managers have forced staff to work with Covid symptoms, putting workers and the public at great risk.
- Low wages, insufficient sick pay, harassment, and abuse remain rife within the industry.
We demand the creation of a charter protecting the rights of hospitality workers. This will provide a best practices framework for operators to support employees.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the rights and protections of hospitality workers, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Employment law applies to workers in different sectors equally, and it would be up for the hospitality industry whether to develop a charter along the lines you've suggested.
We could accept a petition calling to changes for employment law, but it would need to be clear what changes you wanted.
