Include hybrid and/or remote work as standard clauses in employment contracts
Make hybrid and/or remote work clauses a standard option in all employment contracts.
Evidence shows that both employers and employees have benefitted from hybrid/ remote work during the pandemic. Better mental and physical health, more work efficiency, greater investment in local communities, infrastructure and property (including the ability to buy homes in more affordable locations) and benefits to the environment are just a few examples. Hybrid and/or remote work options in employment contracts would continue this process and more accurately reflect many people's wishes.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the content of employment contracts are a matter for individual employers, not the Government or Parliament. As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
Make working from home a legal right to help cut co2 emissions: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/600686
We could accept a petition calling for different changes to rights to flexible working, but it would need to be clear what additional rights you wanted workers to have. You can read about existing rights relating to flexible working here: www.gov.uk/flexible-working
