Mandatory by elections for defecting MPs
The British public vote in General Elections for the party which has the policies that promise to deliver on their priorities. The vote is an important right in this country and being able to elect the MP of the party of your choice is critical to our democracy.
MPs who defect from the party they are elected to represent steal the vote and bring democracy in to disrepute. The rules must be changed to make by elections mandatory and give the public a chance to exercise their vote again
