Outlaw Digital Censorship of Users (by Facebook, Twitter and social platforms)
Companies such as Facebook, Twitter have inappropriate leverage on what can be expressed online
Freedom of speech is a human right, it should include digital means of expression
The internet has played a big role in the spread of new ideas -- it has become a "town square" of public expression
Facebook and Twitter occupy the digital space. They are not necessarily superior in a particular regard but they have monopoly of users.
Laws governing free speech, are drafted by elected officials -- they should apply equally on large platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
For the natural selection of ideas, it's important we are permitted to express ourselves freely. Unpopular ideas naturally don't get far, whilst good ideas gain traction and cause big change -- this is part of a democracy.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
We understand you're concerned about social media platforms' removal of content they consider in violation of their terms of service, but we're not sure what you want the Government or Parliament to do in response. You could start a new petition calling on the Government to prohibit social media companies removing user generated content from their websites unless this content is illegal, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
