Petition Action

A bill to ensure that defecting MP's resign, triggering an automatic byelection

Petition Details

To pass a bill to make defectors to other parties resign, triggering an automatic byelection in their Constituencies.

Additional Information

Because at the moment, any MP can just walk across the chamber to another party that their constituents did not want to elect which flies in the face of democracy!
And if Parliament has time to waste on discussing whether someone had a drink at a socially distanced small wwlcome back to work surprise gathering outside on Crown Estate land not covered by any Covid laws, then they can make time to debate defections!
