Repeal Section 58 Terrorism Act 2000
Section 58 criminalises collecting, possessing, or viewing documents "likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism". This provision should be repealed.
We believe Section 58 is far too broad. It could conceivably cover anything from bomb-making materials to maps of cities and bus timetables. The offence is committed even when not coupled with any terrorist intention, and we believe the provision is inconsistent with basic human rights, and should be struck down.
