Make maliciously 'outing' someone's sexuality and/or gender identity illegal.
To make it illegal for people to 'out' someone for their sexual and/or gender identity without the persons' consent. Anyone who does this can be charged with committing a hate crime if it is done for vindictive reasons.
For the LGBTQ+ community, being 'outed' for their identity without their consent and before they are ready is deeply upsetting and is a huge invasion of their trust and privacy. In some places across the globe, this is also very dangerous. 'Outing' someone is a horrible thing to do and should be considered a hate crime if done deliberately out of spite. If done accidently or without realising their identity is a secret, the culprit should not be charged.
