Petition Action

Uk law/regulation on massage limits

Petition Details

To implement massage limits regulations, to reduce therapist burn out, and avoid injuries,
For an 8hour shift limits need to be a maximum 4.5 hours of massage to maintain physical and mental well-being of massage therapists

Additional Information

Therapists experience burn out on a daily basis, with therapist maintaining chronic back pain and repetitive strain injuries.
Understanding that the limits at the moment are voluntary, most companies are abusing this and until a law comes in to place more and more people are going to feel exhausted and lacking any body strength and the end of the shifts only to go to work the next day to do the same.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

The Government sets maximum weekly working hours, but these apply to all workers. Decisions about working hours for particular employees are a matter for individual employees and their employers, not the Government or Parliament.
