Humane standards for guard dogs
Stop the use of guard dogs which are kept without adequate housing and warmth, dogs are pack animals and require a family unit, love, shelter, warmth. Dogs require the same heating requirements as humans and below that temperature is inhumane
Britain is a nation that has strived for animal rights. A legal temperature has been set for humans, why must a loyal, innocent, dependent animal be used as no more than an object (guard dog) living in conditions less than what is the minimal requirement for a human. If a low temperature is declared as dangerous to humans an animal will suffer forced torture in temperatures below those that are considered dangerous for humans. Condoning Suffering and neglect is no excuse for security.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the welfare of guard dogs, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
The Animal Welfare Act 2006 already gives owners and keepers a duty of care to their animals and requires that they meet their needs:
- for a suitable environment and place to live
- for a suitable diet
- to exhibit normal behaviour patterns
- to be housed with, or apart from, other animals (if applicable)
- to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease
This legislation applies to owners and keepers of guard dogs.
The Government has also published a code of practice about the welfare of dogs, which you can read here: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/697953/pb13333-cop-dogs-091204.pdf
We can accept petitions calling for changes to existing legislation and guidance, but you would need to explain clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
