Make overseas roaming free for Armed Forces personnel deployed overseas.
Engage with mobile phone companies to provide free roaming to deploying HM Forces personnel.
When deployed overseas many forces personnel use mobile phones to communicate with family and friends back home, often using apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook. With the reintroduction of roaming charges by mobile phone firms the extra costs incurred are often beyond many peoples means, often £5 or more a day. From a safety point of view being able to communicate with everyone in a team regardless of mobile phone contract or WiFi access is one less worry.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about discounting roaming charges for particular customers are a matter for individual mobile operators, not the Government or Parliament.
As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
