This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the UK's membership of the European Convention on Human Rights, but the UK's membership of this convention does not prevent the UK from changing UK human rights legislation.

The Government is currently consulting on proposals to reform the Human Rights Act 1998. You can read and contribute to this consultation here: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/human-rights-act-reform-a-modern-bill-of-rights
