Oblige Highways England / National Highways to keep motorways clear of litter.
Motorways across the UK are a dumping ground for litter, and on most roads litter and rubbish is nonstop. National Highways should be forced to keep the roads safe and clear of such litter, and use their cameras to catch and prosecute those who litter, and use the revenue for clean ups.
I want national leaders serious about the real problem of litter, fly-tipping and rubbish getting into roadsides, steams, rivers, and untimely the sea. We are almost at the point where there is more plastic than fish, and ‘forever chemicals’ are in the food chain.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Highways England is already responsible for keeping motorways clear in England.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
