Require Verified ID to create online accounts
With the social media and buying apps being utilised more the need for users to be verified with more than an email address has never been greater. The addition of proof of identity with verified ID would be a step closer to protecting online users both from scams and bulling/harassment.
The creation of online accounts currently only requires an active email account that has no real traceability or accountability associated with it. Not only making online harassment/bulling easier, but also enables online scams and criminal activities to take place. By adding a verified ID to the account creation process, there is a possibly at preventing a fraudulent or malicious individual/group from being able to access a platform to harm, harass or scam other Internet users.
