Urgently & Substantially build up the UK Armed Force's conventional Capabilities

Petition Details

We plead with the Government to abandon cuts to the Armed Forces and instead immediately initiate a drastic build-up of conventional capabilities. Troop and Hardware levels are alarmingly low which could lead to catastrophe if not remedied in very short order.

Additional Information

The conflict in Ukraine & threat of conflict with China is proof that we need a large, formidable Military, especially but certainly not solely Naval, which cannot be raised overnight. As it stands the Armed forces are still capable, but everything is relative. Current planned investment is too little too distant. Our Nuclear Deterrent could prevent a direct attack upon the UK, but time and again the importance of Conventional forces is being shown to be critical for our protection.
